Elevated Entertaining

There’s no denying, our homes have become so much more to all of us these past few years. People have been relying on their homes to provide new avenues of activity and entertainment since the beginning of the pandemic. Our homes are where we eat and sleep of course, but they have become the places where we work, and work-out, make movies and watch movies, cook and entertain friends and family.

In its 2021 Houzz Emerging Home Design Trends Report, Houzz, found that searches for home bars and wine cellars both were up nearly four times from the prior year. Home bars have been a trend to watch in 2022.

So, when our clients decided to put in a Home Bar within the guest quarters on their Historic Downtown Los Gatos property, we thought it was an amazing use of space! A dedicated space for overnight guests to make the stay comfortable for everyone, but also, a brilliant and beautiful feature for the homeowners themselves, to entertain or just hang out in style. Elevated Entertaining at it’s finest!

This home bar is situated in a 600 square feet ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) in the back of an Historic Downtown Los Gatos home. Historic Los Gatos is idyllic and quaint, but homes and properties often lack the square footage of those in suburban and country areas. However, in this addition, every inch of space was used to perfection. The design of this space fits perfectly into the footprint of the property with a connecting patio, firepit and lounge space that brings an indoor-outdoor flow perfect for entertaining.

Taking this ADU to the next level… not only is it a comfortable and functional guest house for out of town visitors, friends and family, but while it’s “not in use” it becomes a fabulous hang out space for the homeowners and guests, with music studio and more.

The Home Bar features some of our favorite products and materials from our trusted partners and vendors, including:
